The Lancet said the Chinese have the highest disease burden of any dietary risk group(link).
I believe that is because they eat too much food in restaurants. Eating in restaurants in China is cheap and doesn’t require tipping.
So, why not eat in restaurants in China
First, there’s too much oil. The first step in processing most of the ingredients in Chinese restaurants is to go through the oil.
Second, there are too many carbohydrates. Eating refined rice is not much different from eating sugar.
Third, too much salt is used in almost all Chinese food.
Fourth, the vegetables are cooked too well. Greens in Chinese food must be cooked in boiling water and then stir-fried in oil, causing a large loss of vitamins.
